Sugarland in Reckoning for 2010 CMT Music Awards
May 20, 2010
When Sugarland were announced among the first batch of CTM Music Award nominees for 2010, nobody was surprised; the dynamic duo have been something truly special this year, and Sugarland tickets have been selling faster than ever before. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush have been playing their country hearts out, exploring new genres and drawing in huge crowds all along the Sugarland schedule in 2010. There were other performers too, like supergal Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum (currently touring with Tim McGraw), Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and Brooks & Dunn, whose final ever tour has seen Brooks and Dunn tickets evaporate faster than a bottle full of gasoline on a south Texas high noon. But it’s Sugarland who have truly been on fire this year, which is quite a feat when new sensations like Taylor Swift and tried and tested truckers like Kenny Chesney are hittin’ the road, too.
When voting commences, you can be sure Sugarland will be ahead of the pack, but other country music stars will have their reasons for also being in contention. Taylor Swift fans are noted for their youth and subsequent internet savviness, while Brooks and Dunn have a legion of fans who would love to say goodbye with a CMT Music Award. Lady Antebellum have enjoyed massive concert ticket sales on their tour with Tim McGraw, and they’re a force to be reckoned with in their own right.
